Fukushima has rich history and beautiful scenery.  It’s one of the most traditional prefectures in Japan, perfect for the teacher who is looking for the ultimate “Japan Experience.”

What to expect as an Interac ALT:

As a senior high school ALT in Fukushima, you will work with motivated students preparing for exams, presentations, and future careers. Lessons often focus on communication, critical thinking, and real-world English application.

As an Interac ALT, you will:

 

– Receive a flat monthly salary every month
– Attend paid, comprehensive initial training starting in late September
– Teach Monday to Friday, with school hours between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
– Enjoy fully reimbursed commuting costs
– Benefit from support in finding local housing
– Participate in ongoing training and professional development
– Integrate into a vibrant school and local community

🔰 Requirements

 

  • English Level: Native level (any nationality welcome)
  • Residence: Applicants must currently reside in Japan
  • Visa Status: Must hold a valid visa and residence card
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (any field)
  • Certification: applicants currently holding TEFL/TESOL certification or teacher’s licenses from their home country are preferred.
  • Science background: positions are available for applicants with a science background (degree in science) for teaching at specialized science-focused schools.
  • Language Background: 12+ years of education with English as the medium of instruction
  • Documents: Cover letter required
  • Visa Sponsorship: Available
  • Driving – Must hold either:
    • a valid Japanese driver’s license, or
    • a valid driver’s license from your home country plus an International Driving Permit (IDP) under the Geneva Convention
